‘World Social Work Day’ is a celebration that aims to highlight the achievements of social work, to raise the visibility of social services for the future of societies, and to defend social justice and human rights. Every year, World Social Work Day is celebrated the third Tuesday of March, and is a celebration for social workers and all they do all over the world, for their contributions to the profession and to individuals, families, communities and the wider society they serve.

It's important to take every opportunity to acknowledge the increasingly important role social services play in our communities and within the organisations which empower our social workers to do the best work they can for the benefit of our people. Social work plays a critical role in providing culturally sensitive care.
