Say Something

Pasefika Proud is to proud to release "Say Something", a family violence prevention video produced by Porirua Elim Christian Centre. Created to help break the cycle and raise awareness about family violence and to promote the message that it is okay to say something.

Video producer Glenys Ngateina of Elim says family violence is often a “silent predator” that creates fear or a culture of shame and emotional turmoil, that hinders people from reaching out for help or to “say something’ about their situation.

"This video was created to help break the cycle and raise awareness about family violence and to promote the message that it is okay to say something, particularly for our young Pasefika community," she says.

"It is ok to ask for help and know there are people, organisations and resources around you that can help and support you."
